Topics for the next 4 1/2 weeks
Daily Procedures: Students complete a list of 8 to 9 questions daily to review all material covered throughout the year (Problems of the Day). It is reccommended that they use this time to reflect on what they know and what they don't and ask questions accordingly. If they are not able to complete the questions in the time period given in class, they should complete them at home. On Friday, we go over all questions. Students should be prepared for two to three quizzes a week. All quizzes are 5 questions and cover topics that are currently being taught with a few days in between to study. The quizzes are in a folder and are stored in class. Students are encouraged to take the folders home weekly to review or study if needed. Resources: Our textbook is non traditional, so it can be difficult to find and exact procedure for certain concepts. There is at the end of each chapter a summary that breaks down the chapter into each lesson and has an example of the procedure there. Students also have a spiral notebook in which they keep notes and other examples in. This should be the first resource they use when looking for assistance. For extra practice problems, I encourage students to use the Mathia X software and the online textbook resources. Log in information about the online textbook can be found on the student rescources page. Google classroom has a short video of how to log in and use the website. Online Assignments Online assignments will be posted the same. Our scheduled time in the computer lab will be the same (one day every other week.) Reminder: Computer lab 400 is open to students every Tues, Wed, and Thursday morning starting at 7:30. Students will have two weeks to complete TenMarks assignments with at least 80% or higher. The second attempt will be posted after the first week. Students should also complete 5 hours of practice on the Mathia X software for the 9 weeks.
